Springfield Taijiquan. At Springfield Taijiquan we offer classes for Western Massachusetts in Chen Style Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) for both health enhancement and Martial Art/Self Defense practice. Chen Style Taijiquan is the oldest historically recorded form of Taiji (Tai chi) and generally accepted as the original style of Taijiquan from which all other styles were ultimately derived. Chen Taijiquan is excellent for both health and self defense.

Classes at Springfield Taijiquan. At Springfield Taijiquan we teach Taijiquan in a friendly, informal, relaxed atmosphere and all are welcome. Please stop in to view a class or participate in a class (for free) to see if you like it. We teach regular classes at specific locations and private lessons as well. You can choose to pay by the class or by the month.

We have access to space in downtown Springfield and could possibly do lunch hour lessons as well.

Chen Wang Ting, a general of the latter years of the Ming Dynasty. Chen is often credited with the creation of Taijiquan, he was a native of Chen Jia Gou, Wen County, in Henan Province. After the fall of the Ming and the establishment of the Ching Dynasty (1644), Chen Wang Ting returned to the Chen village and created his forms of boxing.
