All fonts are freeware and available for download.

Some of these fonts are well drawn most are not (whaddaya want for nutin?), characters shown are the only ones available for each font. I found these fonts at a website called Randomville. They posted to the American Bungalow Bulletin Board that they had A&C fonts available for PC. Mac fonts have been compressed with Stuff It. PC fonts are not compressed. To the best of my knowledge these fonts are freeware. Please let me know if this is not the case. For a very large collection of high quality postscript fonts to buy, try http://www.myfonts.com/. |
MAC users click and hold select 'download link to disk'. PC users right click and 'save link as' and choose a location on your computer.

The following fonts were added 9/01. The majority of these fonts are drawn well. Many come from Nick's fonts, he has a very nice collection of freeware fonts drawn by himself (quality). He has many Art deco fonts (visit his site for a great description of all his fonts). Some of the new fonts listed here lean in the Art Deco direction. Nickley(Nick-Stickley) and Runy Tunes are solid Arts & Crafts fonts. Hut Sut Ralston is a bit similar to P22's Dard Hunter font. Kelmscott is William Morris influenced, this font as well as Tanglewood and Hobby Horse are influenced by Turn-of-the-Century childrens storybook fonts. Other fonts were popular in the early 20th century. Speedball was designed in 1915. Nickelodeon is a silent movie font. Art Nouveau Initial caps and Fortunaschwein(from a 1906 postcard) are from another source they not drawn well. |

The following fonts were added 4/02. All of these fonts come from Nick's fonts. Bala Cynwyd is inspired by Charles Rennie Macintosh. Runy Tunes Revisited is a bolder version of the same font above. Grasshopper is described as somewhere between Art Nouveau and Art Deco (does that make it Arts & Crafts?) Rivanna is Art Nouveauish (an earlier form of Adresack and Sarah Caps above?). Payzant Pen based on a pen-like font similar to Speedball (above) from around 1918. Shangri-La based on a font from 1922. |
